Most Belize trips work best as one island base plus one inland base, say San Pedro + San Ignacio, or Caye Caulker + Cayo. Five to seven days is the standard length. Cruise visitors play differently: pick one experience within 4–5 hours of the port and don't try to do both islands and inland in a single day.
