Booking & cancellation

How do I book a tour?
Click 'Book Now' or 'Check Availability' on any tour card. You'll be sent to the Viator product page where you select a date, party size, and pay. Confirmation is emailed within minutes.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Most tours offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the experience. Each tour's cancellation policy is shown clearly on the Viator product page before you check out. To cancel, log into your Viator account or use the link in your booking confirmation email.
Do I pay BookBelizeTours or Viator?
You pay Viator directly. We're a curated booking-affiliate site — we never collect your payment info, dates, or personal details. We see only an anonymized commission report from Viator.
What happens if my tour is cancelled by the operator?
Viator processes a full refund automatically. Operators in Belize occasionally cancel for weather (most often for snorkel and boat tours). Reschedule or refund options appear in your Viator account.
Is the price I see the price I pay?
Prices on tour cards show the 'from' rate per adult in USD, before optional add-ons (private guide, premium variant, gratuities). The Viator checkout shows the full breakdown including any taxes/fees.

How many days do I need in Belize?
Five to seven days is the sweet spot for most first-time visitors. Four nights is the honest minimum. More than ten and you're into 'add Guatemala or Mexico' territory.
When's the best time to visit?
Feb–March: peak dry season, best weather, highest prices. May: best value month. June–August: rainy but functional, with bonuses like whale shark season (Mar–Jun). Avoid Sep–Oct (peak hurricane risk).
Is Belize safe?
For tourists visiting the cayes, San Ignacio, Placencia, Hopkins, and standard tour destinations — yes. Crime is concentrated in specific neighborhoods of Belize City that tourists have no reason to enter.

About this site

Do you accept money to feature tours?
No. We earn a commission via Viator's standard affiliate rate when someone books through our links, which is roughly equal across operators. We don't take direct payment from operators to feature them.
How do I get notified of deals?
Subscribe to the deals newsletter at the bottom of any page. We send about one email a month with active promotions and seasonal picks.
